Roman baths were an important part of Roman social life, as well as a way for the people of Rome to stay fit, healthy and clean. Roman baths were located in almost all Roman cities; most certainly in the largest and most prominent cities, with numerous cities having more than one. Far from simply being a place for people to keep themselves clean, Roman baths provided an opportunity for citizens to socialize, exercise and unwind after a day or so of work. Today, Some of the larger ancient Roman baths can still be viewed at various locations with the largest and most spectacular bath being in Bath, England.
